| Answer:
I often use three colors when decorating a house, but I use them in different amounts.
Example for your house: in one room the walls are tan and you use the other colors for accessories, curtains, furniture, bedding etc. In the next room you have blue walls and perhaps use mostly the brown or mostly the tan accents. If you use the same concentration of all three colors in every room, I think the rooms will look very much alike and predictable. Also consider changing the concentration of the color from one room to another. While one room might have a lot of the tan and blue, another room could have a lot of the brown and blue.
In a beach cottage I decorated, I used the three colors of yellow, dark blue and red. I started with a nautical fabric with all three colors in a print on a white background for the curtains. The walls were a very pale yellow and the furniture is a casual denim. I brought in the red with a red wicker chair.
In one bedroom I used the red only in a red and white theme. In the hallway, I used a two tone yellow stripe wallpaper above white beadboard wainscoting. In another Bedroom I used a lighter shade of blue with light blue and white accents. So I continued to use the same three colors thorughout the house, but in different amounts in each room.
Your color combination is very nice. |
