Question: What type of minature trees placed under a window where there is nothing except lots of sunlight would you suggest to use in a landscaping project? Prefer the tiered look.

Answer: I have an minature Japenese maple under one of my exterior windows with hostas planted directly beneath. It looks wonderful and is easily maintained. Boxwoods and holly bushes are also excellent for under windows, but the boxwoods need to be trimmed. There is a rule about holly bushes concerning male/female for berries, check out the internet or local nursery for this.
