Name: Crystal Title of Question: Living Room Rugs Question: What color should I choose for the area rugs in this room? The space is relatively small but we need one rug in front of the couch, one in the entry way, one in front of the wood burner and a runner in the hall? My husband has gone minimalist this year. The new carpet is speckled gray, the walls are white and we have a black wood burning stove in one corner. The furniture is currently maroon but this may change to dark gray. If yes, i think it will make the room you already say is small, even smaller. Lots of small carpets will change the minimalist look. One in front of the sofa to define that area would be better. If you change the furniture to gray, I would add some warm colors. Art, maybe with some reds. Otherwise you would just have gray and white if you replace the maroon. so for the carpet in front of the sofa, you might want to get a patterned one, contemporary style maybe with warm colors.
