Name: Ruth Onyett Title of Question: Living room firelplace Question: I have a large floor to ceiling brick fireplace/raised hearth - mantle painted black on advice of decorator (luv it) but above all brick - formal room - what can I put there? Mirror does not work - too high and just reflects ceiling - even tried tilting. I did have an oil painting there - too small (expensive) but thought it got lost on brick background -There are two potlights from ceiling to hi-light something there. Flowers kind of disappear too. Perhaps the art work was just too small? I have a high mantel as well because of my hearth. On my mantel (fireplace is in Kitchen and is not brick) I have blue and white tranferware plates(on easels) bowls, ginger jars etc.
