Answer: This is currently a very appealing look and one that I feel will be around forever. Anything Old World, Italian, Mediterranian, Tuscan or French Country makes for an inviting room with lots of color and texture. There are many ways in which to go with the theme that you have mentioned. The first thing that comes to mind is wine, olives, grapes or fat chefs. Incorporate a basket of fake loaves of bread, rolls and buns. These are readily available at craft stores as well as Walmart and the Dollar Tree. Decorative bottles filled with preserved vegetables is another idea. Add in some wrought iron accessories in either a black or rusted brown finish as well as some cookbooks. Display some of your favorite pottery pieces in a pattern and plain colors. Use plate hangers to allow hanging on the wall or easels to display them on flat surfaces. Textured walls are typically seen in a room with this theme as well. There are many paint techniques that can be done to give the room that true Italian look. If your budget allows consider a venitian plaster or stucco technique.
