Name: Pat Title of Question: Painting a catherdral ceiling
Question: My bedroom has a cathedral ceiling. Is it best to paint the walls and ceiling all one color? Or should I paint the walls one color and the slanted portions and the flat ceiling white? What is the recommended way to maintain the open feel of the cathedral ceiling?

Answer: If your room has ceilings that are 8' high or under, paint the ceiling a shade or two lighter than the color of your walls. If your ceilings are higher than 8', paint them a shade or two darker than your wall color. The above statement was taken from the Behr paint web site. Hope it helps you. I have same ceilings in my family room. I painted the ceiling white and the walls a different color, because I like white ceilings!
