Post Your Answer To The Question Above: Name: Your Answer: Name: JH | Date: April 9, 2008, 10:39 am | Answer: If your table is a good proportion for the size of your din rm,( not an oversized table in a small room) then I would want a rug that all the chairs, when pushed under the table ( not too tightly pushed)fit on the carpet. I also like when a nice portion of the hardwood floor all the way around the rug shows. So measure the area of the table and chairs and add about three to five inches around that and that is close to the size rug. For a smallish dining area a 5 x 8 might be right for a larger room 8 x 10 might be right. For a very large din room a 10 x 12. You will mostly likely be close to one of these measurements.
