| Answer:
Prime your walls. While still wet, crumple and apply white tissue paper to the walls. You can create different textures depending on how much straightening you do to the paper. Allow to dry overnight. Apply your favorite color as directed on the paint can. For additional dimension and texture rub a diluted paint of a bit darker shade on then quickly wipe off. This gives the illusion of stucco. Glazing over this wall treatment creates an Old World look. |

| Answer:
Yes, regular white tissue paper as used in wrapping gifts. Buy it at the Dollar Tree. You get a fairly large packet for $1. How can you go wrong? I also feel that with it being of lesser quality it is easier to crumple, umcrumple and apply. The heavier papers also leave a bit more of a texture. So depending on the amount of texture desired a decision has to be made on the quality of the paper. |

I know this is an old post but since I tissue papered my living room I would add to it anyway. First, be sure you get enough of the same brand tissue paper for the whole room. Different brands take the paint differently and it can end up looking like some sections are painted a slightly different color. Wad up the tissue paper then straighten it back out. Paint a section of the wall using the color you want the room to be and apply one sheet of paper to the wall while the paint is still wet. Immediately paint over the applied paper. This works best if you are using a roller. When you have the whole room complete go back and apply your second coat of paint.

| Answer:
Becky,
I have ALWAYS used this technique by applying my crumpled tissue over my wet primer. This is what allows it to adhere. After the tissue paper has dried roll on your desired paint color. After that has dried you can enhance the texture by adding a glaze or wax over the top. It is not a step that needs to be done it just adds more to the effect. As for colored paper I would think the dye would bleed out with whatever agent you use to wet it with. Seems like you could end up with a real mess. I would stick with the white tissue and paint it. Be sure you buy enough as it takes a lot for just one wall. Dont worry about tears or rips. Once you put the tissue on the wall youare going to be smoothing it out to some degre and the rip wont be noticable. |

Does anyone know how to remove the tissue and paint when...you're tired of it? This technique was used in a couple of rooms in my home during a community show home event in 2002 and frankly, I'm over it. |

Question: How do you do the tissue paper or brown paper bag wall treatment, then do you use a stain or a glaze, and how do you seal it? Also, what if your walls are made of plastic like in mobile homes? |
