Question: The townhouse I am buying just had navy blue carpet put throughout the entire house! Althgough I am not that fond of the blue carpet I intend on keeping it for at least a year. Any suggestions for the color of furniture in my living room?

Answer: Be careful about choosing something to go with a carpet that you plan to change. You don't want to settle on something now and then be unhappy later when you change the carpet.Having said that what about A khaki color sofa with perhaps a navy piping would work. Think ahead to what you will choose when you do change the carpet so everything will blend later. A lot of furniture can be bought with slipcovers these days with the option to buy more slipcovers in different colors. so you could start off with all white slipcovers and then purchase a second set to go with your new carpet. Or have an old sofa slipcovered with white denim until you can buy the new carpet and then purchase new furniture.
