Name: Anonymouse Title of Question: What to do with bright yellow walls..
Question: We recently had our home painted (the entire house except the bedrooms). We chose what we thought was a nice butter yellow, but now that is is up we feel like we are shocked with yellow! We already knew to avoid "lemon" on the walls, but in the light that is exactly what it turned out to look like. Finances will not allow us to repaint right now..so what could we do with decorating to try to tone down the yellow?

Answer: Use drapes, curtains and accessories with other colors to tone it down. Use pictures and wall hangings and mirrors to defuse some wall space. Blue is a very popular color to pair with yellow right now and you can probably find plenty of fabrics to go with it. You can also lighten it by using fabrics that have primarily a light or white background but bring in the yellow and other colors.
