Question: We recently installed maple hardwood flooring in our previously carpeted dining room. Love the floor, but now the room is just plain loud! Every sound is amplified--how could I reduce the noise level in this room?

Answer: An area rug will help with this. Also, do you have all of the furniture in the room? This will absorb some of the noise.

Answer: If you don't have drapes, add those. Not just a valance but panels in a medium to heavy material. The rug mentioned previously is a great idea too - be sure too get one large enough to cover the area even when the chairs are pulled out.
