Answer: The same way you decorate any house. Why would a bi level be any different? It's a very general question. You might get more responses by asking specific questions about your kitchen, liv rm, din room etc. And you must give details. What style of house is it, What style and colors do you like? What is flooring in each room etc.

Answer: I TOTALLY DISAGREE W/ MM. I JUST MOVED TO A BI LEVEL. THE MAIN ISSUE IS THAT YOU CAN SEE THE D.R.KITCHEN, PART OF THE L.R. AND THE DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY ROOM, SO ALL THE COLORS NEED TO REALLY MESH, OR YOU ARE SLAMMED WITH A MESS OF COLOR THE INSTANT YOU WALK IN THE DOOR.

Answer: Not all bi-level homes are so open, some have more dividing walls between rooms. That's why i thought more info was needed. Generally, whether the home is a colonial, ranch or bi-level, if the rooms are open to each other the colors should blend. In general, you can choose three colors to work together and use them in different amounts/ways in each room or use one of the three in a room with a neutral. Example: I have a beach rental home. I started with a window treatment fabric that has a white background with an etched sailboat design with colors of red, yellow and two shades of blue. The kitchen is open to the liv rm. We painted both liv rm and kitchen a very pale yellow. The kitchen has white cabinets, med. dark blue counters and floor. The liv rm. has denim sofa and love seat and a red wicker chair with a seat cover that matches the curtain fabric. In the master BR, I used the red with off white. In another bedroom, I used the lighter blue of the liv rm curtain fabric, so the room is lt. blue and white. Another Br has linen white walls with denim accents. In the hall I used wallpaper that has lt yellow and med yellow stripes on top over a beadboard lower half. so all three colors are used throughout the house, so it flows. Inspiration for the three colors can come from a starting fabric ( like I did) or a decorating color wheel, check online.
