Answer: Your wall color is actually considered a background color. Once your furnishings, window treatments and accessories are hung on the wall only a portion of your wall color will show. What type and color of upholstered pieces are going to be in this room? If you are going to be purchasing furniture choose that FIRST then your wall color. It is easier to coordinate colors this way than vice versa. Also an area rug will help to define your seating arrangement as well as break up the wood on wood (flooring and occasional/entertaining tables)look as well as add texture and color to the room.
