You only mention one wall and two items. You didn't say what the rest of the room or house is like. But with a weathered chair, perhaps you could add a rustic shelf or two with some items that best represent the style you're trying to acheive. If the wall is very large, lots of small items can look busy and cluttered. I prefer a few small or one or two large elements, but your eye will tell you when it's right.
