Answer: You could also paint music notes on a lines of music on a wall. Make the lines wavy. If you could find some concert posters and put those up - for whatever bands or music styles he likes. Hang them on angles to make it fun and give the room an edge.

Answer: I'm doing the same thing! One idea my friend gave me was using old cds (shiny side out) for border. It looks GREAT in a small bedroom like my son's. (My son is 13 as well) : 0 )

Answer: I was watching extreme home makeover and there was a room completely made of music. What i though was interresting was a snare drum screwed to the celing used as a light. So its just a thought, although i dont know how they did it you might want to try. Tell your son to keep up with band it is a real joy and be sure and do marching band. It is the best thing i have ever done.

Answer: If you want it to grow with him, keep it simple. Try framing old sheet music or some of this favorite sheet music for the walls. Search second hand stores for old album covers.

Answer: That is what I am doing as well for my son who is 13 and his fav. color is blue. We are doing almost everything that folks have suggested including posters, framed albums,CD's on the wall and a mounted guitar on the wall. To offset the blue, go with a lime green accent to keep it interesting. Another idea, use guitar picks. We are framing his "collection". Also, see if you can mount a pair of his drum sticks or have them autographed by a local recording artist.

Answer: I'm doing a drummer/music theme for my son (11) and these ideas are great! For his night stand he is using the black floor tom from his juvenile drum set. I looks soo cool! On his "night stand" is a red mini-drum set clock his grandmother gave him. It looks great with the red/gray colors of the room. He also has a few black & white photos of musicians we're framing.
