Answer: I have white chair rail and the bottom is brick red. What color would go with the red?

Answer: For HelenDo you mean what color should you paint the top half? What colors are in your fabrics? And what style is the room? Maybe it's country style? An off white that is leaning towards tan/sand/beige might look nice if that is one of the neutrals in your fabric.

Answer: Question: I painted over dark wood paneling in living room, top half. Would chair rail look alright with paneling left on bottom?

Name: JH | Date: January 25, 2008, 1:16 pm |
Answer: Ann, If I understand your question correctly, the entire wall is paneled and you painted the top half ( you don't say what color you used) and want to know if you can leave the bootom dark wood. I don;t see why not and yes I would add or paint the chair rail. If the wall is fake panel boards, you should know that you can also wallpapering over it. I have done this many times. There is a thick liner paper that is installed horizontally and then you walpaper as usual. So you could wallpaper top half and paint lower portion under the chair rail. P.S. You might get more responses if you put your question in a new box instead of as an answer to someone else's question.

Answer: I would like to paint my dining room and would like to know if I can paint the top and bottom of chair rail the same color?

Answer: what is more popular for dining room walls paint or wallpaper??

Name: JH | Date: April 17, 2008, 8:11 pm |
Answer: Gloria, If I understand right, you want to paint above the chair rail and below the chair rail the same color? I guess you could but I prefer two colors, like white below, perhaps you could add "picture frame molding" on the bottom half so it looks like raised wood paneling and paint it all white and do a color or wallpaper on the top half. If will make the room look custom. The molding is cut like an empty picture frame and you make multiple boxes like that all over the bottom half.
