Question: First I hate the wood ceiling(cathedral)with exposed beams can I paint them all 1 color or beams and ceiling 2 different colors the walls are a white with a hint of grey and we have a red wall we love the rest of the paint but the ceiling looks country and everything else is more modern /black dining room furniture etc also the window trim is a light wood stain can I paint this or sand and stain darker????? please help room is a mess

Answer: I would paint all the trim white and the ceiling and beams white. We have a beach house with all stained trim and wood ceiling and we painted it all white and it looks so fresh. The wood ceiling does have that rustic look but ours now looks more cottage than country. you'll have to prime everything first. Get a good primer and you might need two coats of paint.
