Question: how can I displaya shell collection in a room that is formal and has these colors burnt red, drk woods, persian rug offwhite walls. |

This is what I've been thinking to do in my living room.
Use a dark coctail table with a glass top and about6 inches deep! fill it with sand, and lay your shells in the sand, then cover with the removable glass top.
I saw this done 35 yrs ago at my moms friends house and have never forgotten how nice it looked!
I am also thinking of a lighted curio cabinet! |

My living room is 23x13 ft. how can I coordinate a sofa, chaise and accent chairs to give a semi-formal to formal look? The room is empty. I will also be using the usual coctail and end table and I do not want to over crowd. |

They have these beautiful wood glass top display tables. Last time I saw one was several years ago at Burdines Dept Store. I use Rubbermaid stackable drawers. They are clear and work great---but not very formal. |
