skateboarding theme |

Question: My son is ten years old and really wants a skatebording bedroom. He wants the DC shoe logo, all the different brands, etc on the wall painted. I would also like to even use furniture that would reflect skateboarding. Maybe Lockers, or a skate board holder. I live in Maryland and was wondering if you give me any ideas based on this or give me names and websites that could help me with skateboarding.

I am working on the same I saw at a furniture store a boys room with the walls painted with grey and painted cracks to reflec a concrete look. They then hung skateboards bottom side out spaced about 3-4 feet apart along the cieling. they also had some wall brackets that that they place a skate board on bottom side down to use as a shelf to place things on. |

pottery barn kids usually has cool looking things- if you find something you like you culd also call one of their outlet stores to see if they have it in stock and if they do, ask them to ship it to you from there at the discounted price. you could also borrow or rent from like the library or something a projector and project the logo on the wall enlarged and paint it or have someone do it. you also could get some skateboard magazine pictures or pictures of skateboarders off web and go blow them up or just 8x10 size and frame them in his room with just like plain black frames or those that are just two pieces of glass that are frameless. you can also use old or new trucks for handles on his furniture. you could use new or old boards as shelves on the walls. if you want fruniture that looks kind of "cool" looking you can look at IKEA.com and there are some others - i will haveto look them up and post you another message. you could also look at websites that have old signs- they might have some skateboard ones or buy some t shirts with the logos on them and frame them like from pacsun.com. |

im 13 years old and i skate board. my room is i guse a skateboard room and weel i like it so ill tell u and maybe you`l like it.so her it is.... i took the carpet out of my room so i could skate in there. i cemented my floor then spay painted it black.my walls are black also and i grafittied all the skate logos and my skate team on the wall and the floor.um the looker thing is smart i have three and there all cover with skate stickersi have a bunch of decks on the wall.i have two black lights on my celing and a really nice stero system u cant go wrong with that.i like to play eletric guitar so i have three of them and 2 amps. guitars arnet cheap so unless u have a bunc of money dont get them.a have a 67 inch flat screenin my room.dont get that ethierits expinsive, my parients are richthats pretty much my room so hopefully it will give u ideas 4 ur son |

I'm a skateboarder to and from my point of view for what you have planned it sounds pretty good. But If you want it to really look like one I would go to a close skate and surf shop to see if they cangive some ideas about the room. |

There are many things that you can do to incorporate this them in your sons room. Cutting an old skateboard in half can make for two small wall mounted shelves. Simply attach them with L brackets. The effect is neat as it appears as though the skateboard is coming out of the wall. Skateboard wheels can be used as knobs for the dressers. Another optin is to look for a selection of skateboard keyrings and attach them to the dresser by screwing a hole in the center. Lage scaled murals can be found on Ebay. They can be costyl. Are you artistic? If so, you could paint your own images. A border will help to inforce this theme as well. Look for a couple of fabrics that compliment each other and make valances, tiebacks and a toss pillow for the bed. |

You could make tables out of skateboards and hang'em on ur wall or whatever and you can take pictures of DC,Ipath,Adio,Etnies,Element,Circa,Zoo York,Vans,Hurley,Plan B,Pig Wood,etc. to someone who can make stencils for u and paint them onto ur wall |
