Question: I have a yellow room (sort of a soft yellow) and an adjacent light blue bathroom. I am trying to figure out what color duvet to get. I do not want white since I have a husband, dog and cat to get that dirty. I have been looking for 3 years. HELP! |

Since you have pets I would suggest an overall pattern duvet that includes the colors mentioned. |

A print is your best option to hide spots in between washing, I know prints might be harder to find for duvet covers as many seem to be solid. If you are handy you could easily make your own from two flat sheets in a print pattern or you can have one made for you. It's just like a giant pillowcase, so very easy to sew. If the stores don;t seem to have enough choices in a print, try some catalogs. Lands end and linen source come to mind.
Our master BR, before I re-decorated, was yellow and I found a yellow and blue flowered duvet with matching shams. The background field was white with small yellow and blue flowers. It was easy to remove and wash ( as I had cats at that time) and I had a blue and white thin stripe bed skirt made. |
