Question: I have a white leather sectional sofa,2queen chairs(burgundy,green,taupe)10 ft.beautiful box ceiling,I like to paint the ceiling sky blue,what color should I paint the wall? |

I have a hunter green sectional in the familly room. There is dark wood around the windows and I am thinking of adding red toile curtains. The kitchen is in the center of the house. It is connected to the family room. What color should I paint the walls in the family room? Should the kitchen be the same color or is there a contrasting color that would look good? I would like some red in the kitchen too.

To Linda, you would possibly get more replies if you typed a NEW question, instead of a response to someone's else original question. Anyway, you don't mention what color your cabinets and countertops are or the floor is in the kitchen. I would not use red toile curtains with hunter green sofa, I think it will loook like too christmas like all year long. They do have hunter green toile fabric and yellow/gold toiles that you mihgt like to try against your sofa. Consider painting your fam room walls "Oriental silk" by Benjamin Moore (it is a discontinued color but a Benjamim Moore store can make it for you) then use the hunter green or yellow or gold toile drapes. Also I would paint the window/door casings/trim white.
Hard to advise about a kitchen color without more info but you perhaos the yellow/gold from the toile fabric with red accents would work. You can find lots of toile fabric through Laura Ashley. |
