The floors in my home need to be redone, what should I choose?
One of my dearest friends asked me this question recently, and since she is not alone with this dilemma, I’ll try to help you too! First, you must realize that there is not always a right or wrong answer here. Many things must be considered. Your families lifestyle, budget, resale concerns, rooms usage and personal preference all are factors when making flooring choices. If possible, consider refurbishing what you have. Carpets can be dyed, wood floors refinished, tile grout revitalized, and some finishes can be painted and so on….... You get the idea! Now, if you rule out the above options, you must do your homework. Discover which floor treatment is right for your home and budget. Once this has been decided, choosing the right color should be inspired by your interior decorating colors, or kept neutral. In the workbook "Secrets to a Beautiful Home" I cover quite extensively each and every floor product we use in today’s homes, teaching you the pros and cons of each product so you will be a smart consumer. Flooring is one of the most expensive home investments we make. Being well informed will prevent you from making costly mistakes.
