Add your “mass flowers” and additional “line flowers” as desired. I tried to make the flower arrangement pretty on all the sides, so the back is very similar to the front of the arrangement.
After all the line and mass flowers were in place I began adding the “fillers” to the arrangement. This picture shows me adding a wire pic to a stem I cut into pieces so I could get the most from it. Tuck some moss over any exposed foam (this could also be done before you start adding flowers- if I had thought of it in time for the early picture, that is what I would of done before starting the flower placement) and fill in ivy etc. at the bottom to soften the lower edges of the arrangement and container. You will see this better in the completed picture. Don’t worry if you need to pull out and move around some of the floral stems. Tweaking the arrangement will be necessary!
Well, here is Jennifer’s floral arrangement! She was quite pleased! Without knowing the size of the antique table they are being given, it may be necessary to rework it later for her. That’s no problem- the stems just lift out and I can cut or add as necessary to accommodate the table size. You can do it too!
I thought I would take this project one step further! I’m always telling you to gather items and accessories from your home to add more color, personality and color balance. With very little effort, I found several things that would work with Jennifer’s color scheme around the house. First, I want you to see her key fabric to the left of the picture, next the floral arrangement, a birdhouse, accent pillow, candlestick, antique plate, wooden country cat with a yellow bow and a bowl of lemons (those are real, but you could buy artificial). All of these simple and common items add color continuity and personality to the décor. These are the important touches that make your decorating projects coordinated and beautiful!
