Is Shabby your Style?
If you are attracted to the Shabby Chic style of decorating, and don’t know quite how to achieve it—here are some ideas for you!
-
Use some furniture pieces that are a distressed finish. They can be crackled, dinged, paint washed with sanded edges. Something that looks old and worn.
-
Choose upholstered pieces in a style in which the fabric is loosely tailored. Large rolled arms and skirts also add to the look.
-
Vintage or vintage style fabrics will add the color and personality you will need for this manner of decorating. Soft to bold colors all can work well.
-
Open, leggy, antique style accent tables and furniture can also help the shabby scheme. These can match something else in the room or be a totally different aged finish.
-
Use lots of flowers and greenery in the décor in aged or weathered containers. The fresh, friendly, comfortable style of Shabby Chic will be enhanced with their addition to the room.
