How to Create a Focal Point
A focal point is quite often the first thing someone sees when entering a room. It commands attention and screams personality and style. It could be a curio cabinet loaded with collectibles, or that special antique that belonged to you grandmother, a fireplace, a large painting, a piano, a television, media center, bed, or a beautiful view through the window. Location in the room obviously is determined by the focal point itself. You might already own the perfect piece for the focal point of your room and not realize it.
Contemplate your belongings and think about how you could best use them. Take into consideration the purpose. Is it purely decorative or is it functional? While you are experimenting with your furniture templates, consider this special object and how you can best magnify its importance, particularly if it is decorative. If it is functional, then think about the optimum location for viewing and practical use.
