A charming, useful space that is often ignored is the outdoors of our homes. Many of us have porches, terraces, sunrooms or plenty of shade and grass. Why not decorate these areas and make the most of this fabulous space.

6. Window boxes or decorative sculptures that mount to the homes outside walls can provide additional potting space and appeal.

7. A potting bench can be homemade and painted, thus providing practical potting space as well as double duty for a buffet top while entertaining outside.
