Focus on Decorating Room Corners
The corners of our rooms can be
decorating assets or just a boring space. With a little imagination
you can make the corner space work for you and create a beautiful area in
your room.
The easiest and sometimes the most
effective way to fill a void corner space is to use a natural or
artificial tree. Add an uplight and it can be very dramatic and
beautiful. Choose a tree, whose configuration works with the corner
you are filling.
Pedestals of varied sizes look
good in corners. Top them with trees, plants, ferns, flower
arrangements, vases, busts, collection items, vase with sticks etc.
Just about anything you like can be placed on a pedestal for drama and
impact. If you need more height then choose items that will add
height to the pedestal arrangement. Add an uplight with a floor can
light to add more pizzazz!
To fill the space while adding
seating and display areas, try skirting a tabletop with a beautiful
fabric. Add a couple of chairs to each side with coordinating fabric
on the seats. Add a lamp, your favorite pictures and collectibles
for a gorgeous tablescape.
Depending on the size and style of
your room, you may want to fill a corner using a screen. This could
be a very elegant, ornate piece or you could use one of the new (picture 3
fold screens) for a more casual area.
A corner cabinet or hanging cupboard is a handsome solution and adds needed storage and display areas as well.
