Lighting Tricks
To make a small room feel larger, use up lights, wall sconces and torchiere style lamps. The light will softly graze the walls and illuminate the ceiling with the light bouncing back down to add a wash of light throughout the room.
To disguise less-than-perfect walls, use table lamps, floor-lamps and soft accent lamps to create pools of light rather than flooding the whole room.
To accent an attractive wall feature or color, fit spotlights, track lights, or wall washers angled to catch the glow of the color and highlight the best view of the featured decorating element.
