Quick Tips

1 - Garden Theme Headboard
Take advantage of the popularity of gardening and nature. An adorable way to create a garden theme for a girl’s room or guest room is to buy a length of wood picket fencing, roughly two feet high and two post and caps for the ends. Paint it pure white and attach to the wall at the appropriate height. This looks darling against a sky blue wall. Add birdhouses, flower boxes, watering cans and other related accessories to the room. Pretty soon you will have a room envied by all, even the butterflies!

2 - Baseball Headboard
Cut plywood with a curved radius to match the bed size. Glue on batting and cover with white or ivory canvas fabric, stapling in the back. Using red embroidery thread, stitch straight angle stitches resembling the stitching on a baseball from the top to the bottom of the headboard or using a fabric red pen draw the same illusion. The finished product will look like an oversized baseball. Attach it to the wall, or build legs the appropriate height. I have used this technique in models before, and it is always a crowd pleaser! The same idea can be used for a soccer or basketball, just vary your fabrics and trims to the different colors and styles needed.
