3 - Live with Literature
Wall writing is the simple, expressive act of hand lettering a line or two of poetry, literature, or phrases that please you. This writing can encircle the room or occupy the part of one wall. Use alphabet stencils for this project and pick your favorite phrase or poem and you’re on your way!

4 - Lighten and Brighten Up!

  1. Remove heavy, dark window treatments and replace with sheers, a natural vine with dried flowers or nothing at all.

  2. Replace dark or black lampshades with white or cream ones. This will help fill the room with cheerful, space expanding light.

  3. Don’ be afraid to use white. Choose washable fabrics, such as cotton duck or denim and you can easily maintain a pristine new look.

  4. Remove the clutter. Store heavy-looking accessories and gloomy artwork. Replace with lighter, more cheerful pieces, at least until it’s winter time.

  5. Keep fresh flowers in the room. Simple bouquets are both easy to arrange and easy on your pocketbook. Supplement blossoms with a few foliage cuttings from your yard for a constant fresh, cheerful look.
