1 - Instant Drama
For instant decorating drama, stack hatboxes on a shelf or tabletop.  Crown them with an accessory, nestle a plant next to them in a pretty container.  The result will be a terrific tablescape or pot shelf drama.  Hatboxes are available everywhere in beautiful colors and patterns.   Use two to three different sizes for the decoration.   They can be a wonderful accent for very little investment!

2 - Paint Paneling
Bring your family room out of the 60’s by painting dark wood paneling.   Yes, you can paint it!!  You just can’t reverse it or go back to the paneling very easy, so be sure you want to paint.   First, lightly sand the entire surface and then apply a quality primer.  You are now ready for the final paint color.  Use something soft, which complements your decorating color scheme.  Beige’s, sands, light sage green etc.  The room will open up and have a totally new personality.
