Moving Too Much?!

Many of you have experienced moving all too often.  The trials and tribulations of moving are enough to cope with, without trying to deal with decorating and redecorating all the time.

If you are fortunate enough to be building a new home and realize that you will need to resale in a few years, consider choosing neutral colors in the main structural items of your home.  Color can be added lots of other ways, without having to have a peach tub and green kitchen countertops.  If you have moved a lot, then you realize first hand how difficult it is to buy an existing home with colors that are right for you.

Wall paint and wallpaper can easily and economically be changed.  However, tile, cabinets, countertops etc. are costly and inconvenient to replace.  Please think about this carefully.  Selling your home will be much easier if the main components are neutral and compatible with most everyone’s decorating.

Invest your decorating dollar in furniture, artwork, area rugs, accessories, decorator pillows, artificial greenery etc.  These items could easily be used in another home.

Learn how to be creative with paint and take advantage of wallpaper borders.  Both provide a wonderful source for color and personality.  The investment is minimal and the return is maximum!

Consider drapery styles that will work with many different window sizes.  Scarf’s, tab tops, shirred panels/valances etc. are all versatile and can be wonderful on many different window types and sizes.
